News from the Authors
We are currently focused on Swedish cephalopods and marine health along the west coast of Sweden. During 2026, work was centered around the discovery of a previously unknown eye tumour affecting Alloteuthis media, one of Sweden’s most common squid species.
The condition can cause complete blindness and has never before been scientifically documented. Ongoing studies, conducted in collaboration with international researchers in Spain, include DNA and histological analysis to better understand the biological and ecological effects on squid populations and marine ecosystems.
Our published books cover marine biology, diving, cephalopod research, underwater exploration, and scientific field studies from Scandinavian waters. The collection combines years of research, documentation, and practical experience with the goal of making marine science more accessible to both researchers and the public.
